The Magu Wonderland Waterfall (麻姑仙境瀑布), located at the base of Mount Heng (衡山) in Hunan Province, flows down three steps into a pool.

Best time to visit: Sept.-Feb.

Detian Falls (德天瀑布) is located in Daxin County in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, straddling the Sino-Vietnamese border. The three-tiered, roaring waterfall drops more than 70 meters and has a maximum width of 200 meters. It is the fourth largest waterfall along a national border after  Iguazu Falls (伊瓜苏瀑布), Victoria Falls (维多利亚瀑布), and Niagara Falls (尼亚加拉大瀑布).

Located at the intersection of Shanxi and Shaanxi provinces, the Hukou Waterfall (壶口瀑布) is the largest waterfall on the Yellow River and the second largest in China. The width of the waterfall changes with the season. It usually stretches 30 meters but can increase to 50 during the rainy season.

The Black Dragon Pool Waterfall (黑龙潭瀑布) is situated on a 100-meter-high cliff on Mount Tai (泰山). Legend has it that the pool is connected to an underwater dragon palace in the East China Sea, where dragons swim freely.

The Zhaga Waterfall (扎嘎瀑布) is the largest travertine waterfall in China, a type of waterfall consisting of deposited limestone. A lake sits  atop the falls, which flow down into a multistep waterbed. The waterfall creates a large spray and earsplitting sound as it rushes down the travertine steps.

Walk a couple of miles upstream from the Shuzheng Lakes (树正瀑布) at Jiuzhaigou Valley (九寨沟), Sichuan Province to find a massive waterfall 20 meters high and 50 meters wide. The Shuzheng Waterfall is divided into several branches by  flourishing old trees bending in the waterfall.

A walk along the sightseeing deck  north of  Panda Lake at Jiuzhaigou Valley (九寨沟), Sichuan Province brings you to Panda Waterfalls (熊猫海瀑布). A wooden walkway allows visitors to descend alongside the falls. In midwinter, the waterfalls freeze, creating a crystallized spectacle.

The Huangguoshu Waterfall (黄果树瀑布), located on the Baihe River in Anshun City of Guizhou Province, is the largest waterfall in China .It is about 77 meters high and 101 meters wide. Water-curtain caves form at the back of the waterfall, which is surrounded by  18 minor waterfalls.  The whole group holds the Guiness world record as the  largest waterfall cluster.
