The Hulun Buir Grasslands in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region are one of the best preserved grasslands in China. Ethic Mongolians have inhabited the region, known for its scenery and abundant natural resources, for thousands of years.

When seasons change, nomads will find new places to set up their yurts with better grass and water supply.

As a major cradle of nomadic culture in China, it is home to many significant cultural relics, such as the tombs of the Xianbei people. Many traditional festivals are still celebrated by Mongolians. The most famous is the ancient Nadaam Festival, where visitors can watch many local activities including horse racing and Mongolian wrestling.
