Adventure in the torrents

By Teng Mu

August 26

Rafting is a favorite summer adventure activity in China.

Rafting is a favorite summer adventure activity in China.

Rafting first became an outdoor activity after WWII when people transformed obsolete rubber dinghies into adventure rafts. As more people discover the outdoors in their free time, many are choosing to challenge in the torrents.

Rafting attracts people of all ages and sizes, and you can book a trip with several friends or families members. Head into the wilderness, put on your life jackets, and get “on board” and start drifting down the river.

On smooth-flowing water, you can relax and take in the natural scenery around you, — and prepare for the whitewater. In the rapids, you’ll be paying close  attention to your movement and situation. You might also scream a few times.
