Christmas is in the air. We know Christmas is similar to Chinese lunar New Year’s Eve. This western religious festival is fast gaining popularity in China, especially in big cities like Beijing. Here are some places we recommend to celebrate around the city.

Christmas is in the air. We know Christmas is similar to Chinese lunar New Year’s Eve. This western religious festival is fast gaining popularity in China, especially in big cities like Beijing. Here are some places we recommend to celebrate around the city.

Christmas Choirs

Christians in China celebrate by going to special church services, which are typically packed to capacity. On Christmas Eve, there are choral performances, and the congregation puts on dance and drama events.

Xishiku Church

Xishiku Church, also called North Church, is a reconstruction of the very first church in Beijing, which opened to the public during the Qing Dynasty (around 1703). The one we can see today was rebuilt in 1900.

North Church is one of the biggest churches in Beijing, covering an area of nearly 2,200 square meters. Chinese architecture and culture has been exquisitely merged with this Gothic building.

Haidian Church

Haidian Church is a modern building that combines worship halls and office spaces within one building. Located in Zhongguancun, the Silicon Valley of China, Haidian Christian Church welcomes people from all over the world to enjoy peace and love.

Beijing Lai Tai Flower Trade Center

Beijing Lai Tai Flower Trade Center is the largest flower market in northern China. The market offers Christmas trees of every size and ornaments for customers to choose from.

Ideal time for skiing 

Nanshan Ski Resort

Nanshan Ski Resort is the largest of its kind in Beijing. It has ten well-groomed trails for skiers of all levels and a snowboard park with a half pipe, four kickers and six rails served by a quadruple chairlift, a double chairlift and nine T-bars.

Badaling Ski Resort

A series of winter activities are popular at Badaling Ski Resort, including bungee jumping in the snow, ice sculpting and a snow sauna. Ski slopes for skiers of different levels can satisfy their every demand. Badaling also has the longest snowmobile track in Beijing at 2,300 meters.
